Jeffrey Walker

Have lived in Olathe, Kansas since graduating from Bob Jones University; have taught secondary subjects since 1977 at Berean Christian School until 2010 when it merged to form Heritage Christian Academy, both of Olathe. In 2015 I joined the faculty of Maranatha Christian Academy of Shawnee, Kansas. At MCA I still teach English, but now I have added a course for international students who are here to improve their use of English. As of January, 2018, I have had students from China, Japan, Korea, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Turkey.

When I am not teaching, I spend a good deal of my time in the nursery and garden industry; currently working for Rolling Meadows Nursery of Olathe.

Attended Berean Bible Church from 1977 to 2010, when it merged into Harvest Bible Chapel of Kansas City; still attending and participating.

One of my fondest memories of Southeast was the Bible Study group that met on Friday mornings in the Drivers' Ed. room before school. Those of us who attended represented several of the Lincoln evangelical churches and found the time of sharing and praying to be very encouraging.


Drivers' Ed was the source of one of my forgettable moments. On the first day of driving, Mr. Baum had us driving along 70th Street in the rain. I was at the wheel when a large delivery truck blew by and tore the Student Driver sign off of the top of the car. I thought for sure the car was being ripped in half, and in those days, there was no shoulder and no way to pull over. The sign went in the trunk and we continued on driving.
